When American Idol first came out I liked it but now that I have gotten older I have realized its all criticism. On American Idol the judges give feedback which is what they are supposed to do however I have never seen the judges attempt to help them by telling the contestants what could make them better. I believe the sole purpose for the lack of advice is entertainment. I think that being mean to contestants is used for ratings and that the criticism is a little too mean. there is a lot more to singing than whether you sound good or not which American Idol does not promote. I think that entertainment at the cost of others feelings is a cruel way to go about getting entertainment. What is worse is no one watches anything except American Idol these days so therefore everyone is seeing these awful moments for the contestants.

what is bad is that people push aside important things like politics to watch others get ridiculed. This article is talking about this.
